The decentralized “folksonomic” information flow has become a popular business model. This combined with a rebirth of many technologies has given way to an apparent democratization of information. Newsvine is another experiement in this new model. Interestingly, this isn’t too much different than the proposals for IndyMedia. I must question whether this model will be democratic or an extension of pop culture and sensationalism. I’m sorry to be skeptical.
